I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting and Electronic Communication Arts (BECA), focusing on TV Production and Directing, from San Francisco State University.
I started my young adult life in the United States Air Force as a Communications Signals Intelligence Analyst. Once I separated from the military, I started my education as soon as I could. I graduated from Cosumnes River College with an Associate’s Degree in TV Production and Film, TV and Electronic Media. Next I moved on to SFSU and graduated Fall 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in BECA.
I had a traveling internship in the summer of 2019, with Professor Miriam Smith and The Smith International Folk Project, where I followed 10 different dance troupes through two folk dance festivals in France and Belgium. This was a dream internship for me because my goal is to work in traveling production, preferably on food based TV shows.
At SFSU, I had a successful radio show turned podcast, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I was also the Events Manager during COVID for KSFS Radio where I provided two virtual events a month, ranging from game nights, Election Night Coverage, live-streamed comedy events, and even hosted KSFS’s first ever 2-Day Virtual Entertainment Festival. I learned how to live stream events via Zoom, OBS, El Gato Streaming Systems, YouTube, and Twitch. My goal was to keep morale up and to keep KSFS Radio’s name relevant without live radio shows on campus.
For now, I work for a million-dollar company that provides Veterinarians with heart monitors and implantable medical devices world-wide. I help with office management, shipping, data entry, social media, and all video and photography related content. The company’s owner hires college students to work in their prospective career fields to help give us experience. I will always and forever be grateful for this company and the chance they took hiring me. I have learned and grown my skills while working here.
All in all: I am a Television Production graduate with hands-on experience in acting floor director, director, producer, editor, character generator, sound, lighting, pre/post production, single camera, and multi-camera. Experience in interviews, podcasts, news updates, PSA’s, voice-overs, music videos, short films, and audiobooks.
TL;DR
I am a disabled veteran who recently graduated from SF State with a BA in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts. I want to work on traveling TV food shows as well as work in the Voice Acting field. I am looking for a mentor to help guide me through the Broadcasting Industry.
